It is a terrible trap which other people cannot comprehend as they as they did with my reading and writing just think "he needs to try harder". What such people do not get is that as has been proved by mri scans of the normal and the dyslexic brain doing these types of activities is that ...

Is dyslexia more common (or troublesome) is languages like English, and less in phonetic languages like Italian? Brian.[/b] I remember my Spanish and Itallan relatives saying "dyslexia doesn't exist here". You're right to say more troublesome in that the more immediately obvious reading &...

Our son was at a private primary school, it turned out not to be a good choice as they didn't believe in dyslexia....this is just a few years ago! He would have been far better served in the state system. Disbelief of dyslexia still exists today!

Can you be dyslexic without being unable to spell? Whenever I hear someone describing the experience of being dyslexic I find myself identifying with every aspect of it, except that I never had any problem with reading, writing or spelling. You can indeed be dyslexic but able to spell well. It's a ...

Paul, re your air bearing bounceback...the only time I get that is when the deck and air bearing are not totally true, one (or both) only need to be a fraction out of level for there to be problems. I now use a very sensitive bulls eye level. My levels move as my 110 year old cellar has only a thin ...

I find the +ve connection (nipple....) can be too broad on some batteries so they won't slot in.

Yes, but I believe Clive uses a DSP processor to EQ the bass as there is no baffle to make it. I use DSP PEQ to kill some horrible room modes I have plus I use DSP GEQ to flatten the bass due to the driver and baffle effects. Here's what I use, note that some of this is also to lessen a null I have...

I found these on e-bay, but they are a bit different to the ones Clive has. Note the price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BASTANIS-MONSTER-OPEN-BAFFLE-SPEAKER-/170749154633?pt=UK_AudioVideoElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_HiFiSpeakers&hash=item27c1715549#ht_2512wt_932 The reason those are expensive...

After tearing my hair out trying to isolate the issue of the 1.5kHz dip I have the answer. It doesn't exist! My calibrated mic / soundcard seem fine either side of 1.5kHz but isn't up to snuff in this narrow band. Oh well, at least the speakers are fine!

The room looks like this:

There's about 50% bare hard floor.

I've measured with the tweeters in normal & reversed polarity, also with no tweeter. I don't get home till Thursday but it's looking like there may not be any issue except for my setup of the measurement mic!!! Given there isn't an issue with my speakers' twins, I'm optimistic.

It's only partly there without the tweeter. Almost identical speakers in a different room measure fine. It could be the room or a tiny difference in the tweeters. The WBs have a very specific profile on the baffle, they aren't supposed to be flush mounted.

well its up to you if u want to take care of that. There are ways... I would start with the least invasive ways, playing around with some of that felt material around tweeter, around edges. I'm in contact with the designer of the wideband/tweeter section. I've created graphs for the wideband with t...

there you have it, the wavelength of 1.5kHz is 9 inch. This may be the cause of a problem with the acoustic phase. You could use dsp to apply some delay to the hf unit conresponding to the spatial difference. 8.92 inches it seems! I can't dsp as I only do this to the bass, other frequencies are rat...
