Before I had: GZ30 -> 10H 82DCR -> 40uF Sprague -> 390R -> 94uF Cerafine And I've just tried: GZ30 -> 14H 429DCR -> 47uF Cerafine -> 14H 429DCR -> 47uF Cerafine They model pretty similarly in PSUD but the 2 14H chokes give a smaller ripple and approx 10V less HT...

Ah, sorry Darren, probably wasn't very clear if you didn't realise it was an Aikido... :oops: First valve in the Aikido is 6CG7 or 6FQ7. 6FQ7s are equivalent to 6CG7 but don't have the internal screen.

You're lucky Paul. The hi fi shares a room with the idiot lantern - sometimes headphones are the only way here. Such is life, I can't complain on balance - not every one would put up with the dining table permanently strewn with valve paraphernalia and HT voltages on the living room carpet...
