SAINT-SAENS "ORGAN" SYMPHONY - FINALE .
Best listened to with half decent headphones. One of my favourite pieces of organ music. Seeing the organist at work adds another dimension for me.

Recorded and watched the Deep Purple - Ritchie Blackmore programmes from Sky Arts, instead of the football. The last 30 mins was interesting- Lutes, flutes and being a Minstrel. Candice Knight has been the same vocalist in Blackmore Knights since its inception, that’s a feat. In the past he changed vocalists at least once per album in Rainbow and DP. His words “Graham Bonnets was the best vocalist we had.. I just couldn’t work with someone with short hair”... Mad as a box of Frogs

Followed by the Iceland symphony orchestra. Performing Dettifoss. Very strange!

Thing is, Dettifos is a place, and like everywhere in Iceland that ends in "foss", it's essentially just another bloody waterfall, "foss" being the Icelandic word for water falling off a rock. The place is full of them. No wonder hydroelectric power is so cheap there - you can't turn round without bumping into yet another sodding waterfall. Groups of British A-Level Geography students on field trips. They're everywhere too.andrew Ivimey wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 9:05 pm Followed by the Iceland symphony orchestra. Performing Dettifoss. It's a very strange country. We had some very good Icelandic friends. They were weird.

Dammmmmmmmmm, just lost what I was writing.
Dettifoss was astonishing ( seriously too far out at the dBspl I'd chosen. But the Iceland symph orch has moved on...gentle variations on a theme of Lv.Beet - who knows what's next, give it a go though.
Spect I'll pass out on the sofa as I've gone all woozy on a cheap burgundy cotes du beaune....makes my blood pressure go down to the levels that gets membership of the ICU ( intensive care dept) where the monitors go beep...........beep if I'm lucky.

Haven't passed out yet - next track is....can't 'member but something about moving on from this life, heavy bass strings with chaffing violas.
Vaughan Williams meets.... actually it reminds me of Thomas Tallis variations .... cor
Wasnext!!!? I must get back to this....epic stuff. Sibelius put through a vocoder blending a lancaster bomber very high in the sky. Deep trembles.... ooooo they love their deep strings
