Snap it up whiles it's available.
It's a decent pressing, whatever the source is, and £5.00 is nothing.
I have a copy spinning right now .....

Just filled it in then saw its £5 first album £30 for two after that.

Think I'll give it a miss.

You can buy good originals of most jazz classics for less than £20 . No need to get involved in dodgy promos like this !

It is a 'promo' of course - this is the 'Market' and as they have on US dollar notes 'In God (the market) we trust' this is the sort of thing that happens.

I didn't have the vinyl version of this, arguably, the best jazz album ever and for a fiver I now do. This may make me a lackey of the capitalist system, bourgeois lickspittle etc etc but I'm happy with this crumb that fell from the high table. When the price goes up surely I am free to decide what I do with the offer.

I'd purchase the "offer" if it came my way. :)

I wonder what percentage of buyers (of issue 1) will continue to subscribe ?

Quick guess = 30% and fast reducing on subsequent issues.

my local newsagent carries it so i got kind of blue again, issue 2 is blue train and is a tenner by the looks of it then 15 quid per after that. i'll probably get blue train and see if the newsagent keeps stocking it, if they do i'll get it as and when.
as chris says the kind of blue pressing is quite nice, my missus got me foo fighters greatest hits from tesco for christmas and the pressings look very similar and the pressed in code in the runout groove is the same font, perhaps its the same plant producing them
phils probably right about the issue take up though :D

If the take up is as any of us might think then the company are probably thinking that too. They consider it worth it. On the whole we'd rather super music was available on vinyl and other formats too. ..wouldn't we!?

I think the sellers have been doing this long enough to know how the sales work, and if the first two low prices work out in the long run.

Well I expect we'll have 'Take Five' and 'Blue Train' and I suggest we should have 'Brilliant Corners', 'The shape of jazz to come', 'Giant Steps' and then, well I suppose 'Bitches Brew' would be fab and 'Dusk Fire' by Rendell/Carr would be too much to ask . Forgot Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie though, ... hmmm..

Some good stuff on there, I have several of them . Also worth saying you can get good s/h copies of most of those for a tenner or less.
