Dear all
I am fortunate to have completed a house move on Fri 20 March, in London. I am less fortunate in having had the Expert Stylus Co (ESC) sapphire cantilever and fancy stylus snapped off in the move (a combination of not quite careful enough packing and very careless removal company).
I am weighing up long-term options with ESC but for now would appreciate suggestions on a cheap interim cartridge (say up to £100). MM or MC. In fact I might stick at the lower price range (or go up to £200) if something very good comes along (I always found the ESC restored 103R a tiny bit bright).
Many thanks
Adrian

Goldring E2 would be my choice of cheap cartridge. It’s the middle of the E series and is an excellent cartridge. I use one on my own TT.

Those EsCo stylus have a habit of doing that, I like the sound, but wouldn't get another, I had two do that, try a VDH retip instead.

I've been very happy with the two I had done by Nadelspezialist in Germany. Not expensive at all. Was it 150 Euros ? Maybe less.
