I gave that axminster model to the member who lives in Scunthorpe(sadly I forget his name) when I closed the workshop in 2012ish. It gave no trouble at all in the 3 or 4 years I used it.jack wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 6:21 pm Anyone got any recommendations for a 100mm/4" dust/chip extractor?
I'm leaning towards the Axminster Craft AC153e ATM as the reviews are very good, but the Itech DC002 looks excellent value for money, but is a beast and needs a 16A supply (which I do have)

Bloody Hermes.
72 hours ago my parcel was delayed for 24 hours.
Their online help system is worse than useless.

It seems one can ring Hermes, but at a price.
"To speak to Hermes on the phone, call 0330 333 6556. Call connection service, Calls cost 7p per minute plus your standard network charge."

I've just won another job lot of 75 CDs for £15 all in.
Mostly classical this time.

Jean and I actually won a bowls match today.
Open pairs round one, we play 4 woods each and 21 ends.
After 20 ends the score was 23 all.
In the last end we scored 3, so we won 26 - 23.

The 24 hour delay has turned into "parcel lost".
The seller managed to get in contact with Hermes, and he's offered me a refund. Fair enough, but I'd rather have had the CDs.

The refund (in full) has already been processed by seller/Ebay/PayPal.
Just to add insult to injury, another one of my CD job lots, sent via Hermes, has seemingly got a 24 hour delay.
It was sent on 29th May.
I reckon someone at Hermes shares my taste in CDs, that must narrow down the list of suspects.

Guess what ?
The two missing boxes of CDs turned up this afternoon.
Better late than never.
I'm trying to get in touch with one seller to sort out how to negate the refund.

Meanwhile - Debenhams has just emailed me, telling me 'Ace your Base, Mark'.
I really don't know what to do about this.

I remember when they originally banned incandescents, the only alternative were CFL's which I hated with a burning passion - I bulk bought a stash of incandescents as a result.
Thankfully the current crop of LED bulbs are fine - there's a Crompton filament GLS model that looks just like a traditional lightbulb and gives the same quality and distribution of light. Going all-LED nicely offsets the current consumption of a Class A valve amp...
