It'd probably be easier to measure in Sarnies per Mile after a quick observation of my current 'physique'.
15 1/2st, not good, I hope the welds on Scobswell can take the strain!

In DTB's case the carb needs to stay where it is or the Enfield won't run properly.jack wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 9:45 amYep. Went out today aiming for about 1hr 50 to 2hrs.
However I made the mistake of straying from the valley roads and as usual got into some escapades.
The usual escapade is that you end up grovelling up an endless 1-in-6 .
Today I did 2 detours from the valley roads and ended up grovelling up two endless 1-in-6's.
To top that off, on the first one, I was nearly mown down by a woman on a mountain bike ( her husband was following ) who was heading directly towards me on my side of the road. She missed me by inches as she swerved, I ran into the stones and leaves in the gutter.
On the next detour, I ended up grovelling for a long way then even more, on a road that was maybe more than 1-in-6, I was reduced to walking, for quite a way ; then asked by a farmer where was I heading, after which I found that I had taken a wrong turning onto a farm road. I didn't manage to do the intended loop, just headed downhill ( that itself was hard ) and back to Denbigh to fight another day.

I had an encounter yesterday too Mark, mine was with a dog that was loose! I managed to outrun it but ended up with a bad scratch on my leg and a bite on my forearm, plus a ruined pair of bib shorts. There was a bit of red stuff but I'm patched up now.
It was a shame as it was a lovely ride out on the Somerset levels (so very flat!) - still managed to clock up 35 miles in 2hrs of riding though.
I will be heading out for a training ride for my RideLondon 100miler with a friend (who's also doing RideLondon) - something around 30-40miles before winding down next week.

After it nipped me I sprinted Mark, it gave up the chase fairly quickly, thankfully!IslandPink wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 12:47 pm Oof ! Far from ideal.

38miles this morning, we took easier than my ride yesterday and there was a bit more elevation too. I'll just be doing some easy 20mile rides through the week and then rest up next Fri/Sat - just some walks to keep me moving...
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Giro is building to a good climax this weekend, two stages left 4500m of mountains today then a time trial tomorrow - just 3secs between 1st and 2nd before today's stage.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Yes, need to check the profile on today's. I still think Carapaz has got it, he looks strong ( and the team is too ) , it's up to Jai Hindley to somehow get away today, otherwise he'll lose in the TT. I'll just make sure the recorder is on.
Off for a bike ride soon, aiming for about 35 miles.
All the best for travel and all arrangements, Ray, hope you enjoy the ride.

I have sympathy for them. Just come back from a ride around 38 miles ( will check in more detail ). Almost to Corwen on main road, then doubled back through very minor lanes in the hills to pick up my normal route on the b-road up the East side of the valley. Took me 2hrs58 , very pleased to see how well everything coped, considering that over 30mins longer than I've done last 2 weekends.
