I think you'll enjoy it, Nick :)
It took 42 years to be released, but it was worth the wait.

Standard release or the 180g one?
DIET - the standard release is 180g.

Oh, so it was recorded the night after, then ?
What was that other record that came out later, by the three of them ? Someone gave me a CD copy years ago.

Yes it was the following night, and somehow the tapes went missing.
Al Di Meola was going through a clearout a couple of years ago, and stumbled across the Saturday night tapes.

The later album was The Guitar Trio, released in 1996, and that's great too!

Ok thanks, I'll have to wait for it to turn up again before I can say which one I have !

I'll be very interested to hear that album on my system, against the 1980(-ish ) one.
My impression of modern vinyl has got no better ( in fact worse ) since my visit to Cranage and a subsequent visit to Lenny last weekend where he played me a Led Zep II re-issue from Atlantic.

After a mention of "Solid Air" a few days ago I thought I'd listen to it again, first time for a LONG time.

So I fired up the Squeezebox touch, rebooted the router to get the address, and hey-presto, it's playing.

Still on the TPA3116 chip amp.

I've now "progressed" to Nina and Frederick.

I'd forgotten what gems I had on the hard drive.
