An amusing by-product of my research for the 1:32 scale EE Lightning kit build...

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Looking seriously at fake power semiconductors...

...using very serious kit...

Yes, interesting, but very repetitive. Could easily have been edited down to one third of its length without losing any content. And I could have done without the relentless HPAK (Hewlett-Packard, Agilent, Keysight) hype. But they did lend him the use of their expensive kit (presumably without fee)... However, it certainly highlighted the hazards of buying semiconductors these days. So many devices are worth faking. I am fairly sure I have encountered faked LSK170C - their noise was not as good as it should be, but it took quite careful tests to establish that.
In the end, it's all physics...

Some may find this interesting, explains - loosely how we ended up getting to where the world is today, well 2016, it’s only got worse since. It is 3hrs long, mind you. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/ ... malisation

I lost the will to live in only 4 minutes and should have never started listening to it. Anyway I don’t often use semiconductors, possibly only hexfreds, though not using any at the moment. There is always a valve alternative. The gm70 amp supply will be rectified through U19’s, because I have them, they aren’t fake, and they make no fuss about it.
