I've been lucky really.
I've got the latest booster and flu jab coming up on 23rd Nov, hopefully won't get much of a reaction to that.

I wonder if i have the XBB variant of Covid , that's the latest one, apparently ...

I have had three vaccines now, in order (I think) AstraZeneca, Moderna and last month Pfizer, no reaction to speak of from any of them. Pure anecdotal.

Lincoln biscuits.

When Jean went to Clare pharmacy to get my medical requisites she asked if there was anything else I needed, so I asked her to go in the Co-oP and get a packet of Lincoln biscuits. What are the she said, never heard of them, and neither had her Mum, so it seems.

A quick Google finds out that they are still made, but primarily for sale in Irish supermarkets. :(

Ah yes, Lincoln biscuits: the ones that looked like circular cast-iron manhole covers. I used to love them when I was a kid. The biscuits you understand, not the manhole covers.

There's an old boy (older than me :) ) in our walking group on Tuesdays/Thursdays who has a real affinity, nay - an active enthusiasm, for manhole and drain covers. It takes all sorts.

I'm told they are very collectible. - particularly the Victorian ones where so many towns from Brighton to erm...Newcastle and beyond had their own iron foundries and all proudly made manhole covers for local manholes.
Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

Don't know about now, but they used to get stolen a lot - very collectable (apparently!) and expensive with some notable fans, e.g. Jeremy Corbyn !

The spelling collectable is recognized as correct by the dictionary, though the i spelling occurs twice as often.

To be honest I thought the a spelling was correct, just shows what a secondary modern education does for one.

Collectable is fine. Anyway, surely they should now be referred to as "personhole covers" (ooh errrrr) and probably have their own choice of pronouns ...
