As I was saying earlier we are up on Hadrian's Wall at Housesteads - Roman fort and National Trust perfect and very well appointed house. By sheer coincidence, as I sipped my tipple of the month, on the Beed radio 4 they prattled on about the sheer weight of tourists walking actually on the wall that was causing huge damage - not us I mused oh no. But it is staggeringly beautiful up here.

Wow, the Venerable Bede Radio 4 - I had no idea how long it dated back.
Congrats to Jack for the minor victory.

Your talk of the Wall reminds me of a memorable trip up there in Feb 1986 from Leeds Univ, we had to dodge snowdrifts near Tow Law, went out to Steel Rigg and looked up over the Wark Forest, everything snowed over, clear blue skies, a bitter wind at -2°C blowing down from Scotland.

And if no one wants to discuss anything as useless as the development of western thinking
To paraphrase someone famous, my view on the the development of western thinking is that it would be a good thing.

I was born at Warlzend (writen the way a Geordi says it.)

The man whose name was given to the Warl is Wore Hadrian. it’s narn as Wore Hadrian’s warl.

A thousand pages of nothing in particular. This is a wondrous place.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Kielder forest and water today. Arguably the quietest place and darkest at night in England - very beautiful.

A 1000 pgs ? It requires a timescale for interpretation.

Well, Mike posted the first post in this thread on January 28th 2010 (my 58th birthday, but that’s of no relevance) and it reached its one thousandth page today, a little under 13 years later, but why that requires interpretation I don’t entirely understand.

I was simply celebrating the fact that by far the longest thread on this audio forum is the one about everything else except audio.

Does it ?

It's (as one would suspect) nothing in particular.
