And a jolly good place to visit, I'm sure you enjoyed it Ray.
Indeed, Phil, it was a good day out all round, though Bovington itself was heaving, as you might imagine.
Also, having dispensed with my car, last August, I'm enjoying letting the train take the strain, and the line South from Castle Cary to Weymouth is like an old rural branch line.
I went to Bovington museum couple of years ago - the first time was sometime early 1970's, or '80's, with me dad (him and mum were camping down that way). There seemed to be much more space back then, when I went last time everything seemed to be 'stuffed' into the building with not a lot of room to walk between. Did they get more exhibits? And then there is the WW1 'themed area' for the kiddies, and the talking horses. I missed the WW1 tank with the glass side panel so you can see everything inside - seems to be missing.

Watlington! We were there a couple of weeks ago. Preferring the B4009 Chiltern route to A34 wecwereccoming back from Uffington ( Wayland Smithy's) and White Horse. Beautiful!
Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

Get yourself down there again sometime, Mike, I don't think you'll be disappointed. There are a lot of exhibits, including new stuff, and on a normal day you can get around without feeling a lack of space (the museum is very busy on event days, like TankFest). Their WW1 trench recreation is pretty good and there are lots of WW1 tanks, some of which you can go inside.
If you do come down this way on one of your camping expeditions you could also avail yourself of a visit to Tyneham (if it is open to the public), a trip on the Wareham to Swanage heritage railway, take a boat out to Brownsea island in Poole Harbour and the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton wouldn't be too far out of your way.

Ta for the update.
Mike, I see there are some 'champing' locations down this way, though not convenient for the suggested places of interest I mentioned (at least without driving), but I've passed on the information to some friends who do cycle touring.
We have an unvented (mains pressure) hot water tank was wondering how much hot water is left, and how to measure it. Some people make holes in the outer steel jacket, cut through the insulation and put temperature probes in touching the cylinder itself - six to eight spaced up the height
I thought that I could just measure its height
It should change by about a mm from all hot to all cold, so

I like the concept, but I'm not sure what the end purpose is? Kind of weird camping in the airing cupboard with a torch to see how much water folk are using...

But it’s nice and warm in there
I want to know if the theory is good before committing to a linear pot, brackets, Arduino WiFi etc. Not sure after that, but maybe a light in the bathroom to say, don’t get in the shower, there’s not enough hot water or something. Haven’t really thought it through to be honest, but would be interesting to know. We are on economy 7, so we could either boost or wait until morning if we wanted more
I had a few problems with my indirect tank not warming, turned out it was starting to gunge up, I fitted a cheap probe thermometer 1/4 way from the top to monitor the temp (b4 a shower), after a good clean out session that lasted over a week its now back to normal and properly charged with system protection...
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number
