just a very quick question if you don't mind,
what's the best way of dealing with the multiple grid connections on the 5842,

One way i to ignore the ones you don;t need to use.

i didn't know if you joined them all together or perhaps put grid resistors on all of them and joined them together,

I would suggest all of them together and stoppers and small ferrite beads on them all.
