I was thinking about the elctricty use on Thursday...running in the triangle speakers with new units....
I swapped out the firstwatt F4 which my meter suggests was sucking 200 watts at all times with my class D which is a might more powerful and says 16 watts....
I didn't notice any degradation in sq, but I haven't had a serious listen for a while.....Paradise has been playing non-stop all week..
There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be
I keep thinking the same about the f5. Not sure what it pulls out of the wall, but it is probably alot.
Perhaps i should put the a20 in instead. Although not having any nva speaker cables im a little concerned it might not like the cables i do have
Perhaps not then.

Just try it. My amp is no longer using NVA cables and it is fine. As long as the cables are not Litz wires, you should be OK.

What's wrong with Litz?
Capacitance. NVA amps can go unstable driving excess pF.

Qué? Litz is just a special wire made up of lots of insulated strands to reduce skin effect at RF frequencies.
RD said it was capacitive so naturally I simply parrot what I’m told, as you do when you’re an English graduate and he is an engineer. Kimber Kable woven litz speaker cable or that twisted twin plaited CAT5 stuff that used to be popular, he told me would send his amps into paroxysms of terror.

coincidence or synchronicity?

Yes me too ed. The GM70 amp drags half a kilowatt out of the wall and more than a few times of late I've wondered just how much sound quality I might lose to class D, and if I can hear I prefer the valve amp how much is it worth to me?
