Mr right arm (flu jab) aches quite a bit at the moment.

My left arm (covid jab) is quite OK. :)

I had both my flu and covid booster jabs yesterday - slightly sore right arm (covid) and feeling a bit lethargic but that's all so far. I think I'll take it easy today.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Thanks Phil.

I feel much better now, well enough to have just completed a hard 35Km (@ 30Kmph) ride on the static trainer.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Went it for an annual checkup at the GP...

They gave me a pneumonia vaccine! It made my arm really really sore - like someone had deeply bruised the muscle or squashed the nerves - trouble sleeping last night as a result.

Very thorough checkup - abdominal ultrasound, bloods, ECG, urine etc. as well as all the usual stuff. Getting the double booster/flu jab on Friday too - apparently there should be a few days between the pneumonia and covid/flu jabs...

You'll be alright as long as the toes are still there under the bandages.

Yep, still there. :thumbleft:

Suffering sleep deprevation as couldn't get off last night. Spent the night watching DVD's and YouTube. Dressings changed today, feeling a bit easier now. On a course of pain killers.

Hi Mike, I'm pleased you are feeling a bit easier, I dread to think of the pain you were in.

Be very careful not to stub a toe when shuffling around the bungalow.

Thanks peeps. They did say the first 48 hours could be the worst. Got some decent sleep early hours last night.

@Phil yes moving around is a slow process, double-thinking every move. :thumbleft:

Dressings changed for the third time today. Next time will be Friday 28th. Recovery is proceeding as it should and the chiropodist is pleased with the results so far.

The last 2 days, Sunday and yesterday, I have been able to get some proper sleep, and I needed it. I am still using an armchair and a footstool, with a cushion on top (which is mostly to support my knees, as it's the same height as the chair cushion, otherwise they ache), at nights as well as in daytime. I am mostly watching youtube and DVD's, and am frequently nodding off during youtube playlists, then wake up to a completely different video and wonder for a instant what the hell is going on. In the wee small hours of Monday morning I slept through an entire music playlist.

I have been on pain killers which were 2 x Ibuprofen every 8 hours plus 2 x Paracetemol every 4 hours, but after a while they were making me feel quite queasy, so I was glad to be able to start cutting down on the Saturday, indeed the last 2 Paracetemol were taken Sunday afternoon (just incidentally, not really part of the timetable – I was keeping a list of dosage times so at to gauge the safe interval to the next dose), and none since. The initial pain (after the anesthetic has worn off) is difficult to describe, and possibly quite different to what you might expect. I had no idea what to expect. The prcedure includes killing off the nail bed cells with phenol to prevent regrowth; which is technically a chemical burn, hence recovery is typically longer and a bit more complcated compared to a 'simple' cut type wound. So I was told anyway.

Anyhow today I'm feeling much better overall, still be a while before any tap dancing lessons tho! :D
