#1 Squeezebox.
Is there anywhere, a program to run my Squeezebox touch using a Windows PC ?
I've tried to download Squeezer 2.1.0 on a tablet but my level of Android incompetence can't make sense of it.
My laptop is always to hand when the Touch is being used so being able to control it with the laptop would be just what I need.

Yes, my music library and LMS server is running on the PC in my office (smallest bedroom).
It's hard wired to the BT hub, as is the Touch. My laptop is wireless to the hub.

Then on the PC you should be able to go to http://127.0.0.1:9000 if you find the ip address of your PC, you should be able to replace 127.0.0.1 with the PC address and connect to it from the laptop.

It's me, I'm fated.
I can't get that address from my PC.
Don't worry anymore, I'll just get up and use the Touch screen as and when necessary.
Just to note my efforts on a tablet, and Chromebook have been equally disasterous.
Next time I see a child in the village I'll ask him to come round and sort it out.

Can you log in to your router Phil? If you can you can find out the ip addresses of everything attached to your network. I'd guess your Touch will be 192.168.1.xxx. Then you can run LMS from your laptop, and as Nick says via Squeezer. You just need to add the :9000 at the end in Squeezer for the port. If 9000 doesn't work try 9050.

I got into the BT hub 6 (not by the IP address) and I found the IP address of the Touch. It's 192.168.1.88 but I can't connect to it, or any other connected item.

You need to find the ip address of the pc that’s running LMS, rather than the Touch itself. Then add the :9000 to that.
Why is it the when anyone mentions LMS I think of this?

My nighttime read for the last week has been a biography of W A Stanier (later Sir W A Stanier) the CME of the LMS who designed (or who oversaw design) of the Duchess class, amongst others.

I've been on the PC that runs LMS, and my music files, and I can control the Touch from that on 127.0.0.0:9000, but I can't access that address from my laptop.
Perhaps I should install LMS on the laptop ?

That because 127.0.0.1 is the special address that means the local machineI've been on the PC that runs LMS, and my music files, and I can control the Touch from that on 127.0.0.0:9000, but I can't access that address from my laptop.
You just need to do the above.if you find the ip address of your PC, you should be able to replace 127.0.0.1 with the PC address and connect to it from the laptop.

I don't know what OS you have on your pc, but there are instructions out there that will allow you to find the ip address of your PC. Its the IPv4 address you need, that will probably be 192.168.y.x, you just need to find x and y, then on your laptop go to
http://192.168.y.x:9000
And you will connect to LMS on your PC

When you went in to your router admin pages to find the address of the Touch, you would also have seen the address of the PC in the same list, along with every other device connected to the router.
Type the PC’s address into the browser address bar of the laptop with :9000 on the end and you’ll see LMS on the laptop. Simples.
