"Our modelling suggests that a 7-day self-isolation period, when combined with 2 consecutive negative LFD tests starting on day 6 and taken 24 hours apart, has nearly the same effect as a 10-day self-isolation period without LFD testing.
After 10 days self-isolation, 5% of people will still be infectious. Ending self-isolation after 7 days and two negative LFD tests results in a similar level of protection. The two negative test results are critical to safely supporting the end of self-isolation: if self-isolation ended on day 7 without testing, modelling suggests that 16% of people would still be infectious."

Did my Covid test again this morning, still a feint line at T, was stronger yesterday.
Seems my sense of smell has gone AWOL again, it had started to recover.
The holiday has ceased to be, I wasn't going to risk infecting 100s of people, some who are friends. We might get the money credited towards our next trip in August, result.

Being a bit more upbeat, Jean got her first negative test a few minutes ago.

Jean has now got her second negative test, but no negatives for me.
I went outside to put the car battery on charge, and I'm exhausted.
I haven't felt this tired for a LONG time.

Thought it had gone away, think again! (Maniacal laughter ending in cashle kashle cough splutter.
Anna and I took us off to a log cabin * alright, primitive methodist converted Chapel deep in the virgin wood , oh all right, arboretum of an ancient country pile. Dr Beeching did away with what would have been a gloriously stunning local railway so no rhythm strumming but I did have my guitar.
Feeling a bit odd! and growing pains and uneasiness I lay myself down with a lateral flow test. Bingo! Phrrrooooaaaarrrrh really . A positive result. Doesn't often happen to me.
So we're coming home gggggggrrrrrrrrrrr. Anna stubbornly refuses to test positive she's the only member of ENT and Audiology who hasn't fallen ill with Corona.
So what's it like ( so far) ??? All the symptoms I get with a bad cold only quite a bit worse. We're calling today 'day 2' so who knows. Interestingly I havent had any breathing difficulties but my chest does feel kinda 'heavy' from yesterday. The worst is appalling muscular and cramp like pains in my legs - yeah, odd that but I get that sort of thing with a cold too. Lower back pains too.... descent into maudlin depressive spiral about being fat old and bald.
Onwards!

chin up old pal.....I imagine you're getting waited on hand and foot, if not, put in a complaint!
as an aside I got exactly the same symptome from spending a day fencing yesterday...the type associated with the garden.

Sorry to hear that Andrew... hope you are allowed to still quaff the occasional bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape/Mouton Rothschild Premier Cru etc,
I can't empathise as, of now, SWMBO and I have escaped this (AFAIK). We have tried hard - I was at Lords last night with 10,000 other cricket inebriates plus being on the underground/trains etc. and have also taken overcrowded London busses etc. but still no lurgy...

I drove today from Bishop's Castle to The Towers in Beds and I would say my eyesight is fine.
I have a theory about Chateau Neuf etc etc which, is mine. That is to say that I, Andrew the Elk has a theory which is mine.
By happy coincidence, Ali, I got an email en route to the sunny (South) East to say that I can, if I wish, get my fourth jab. Now who's to complain about that but now I have the dreaded Lurgi in as positive a way as I can slant it, surely a little natural immunity isn't altogether a bad thing.
By another, alright not a coincidence at all, I had a couple of packages waiting for me from Ukraine.
Now though, tbh, I'm knackered. Early to bed, eh!
