Never mind green there is grey and blue Hydrogen too I assume the transmission losses for transferring electricity from solar farms in Africa is higher than the conversion losses to make Hydrogen, Definitively more efficient than pumping water up a mountain.

There’s so much more to that in the form of transportation, containment and delivery that it’s just not worth going there, green it is not

may not be the best way of putting it....in some areas it may be the best of a number of choices....at the moment the argument for heavy plant is quite compelling...according to JC Bamford.

re pellet stoves, my mother in law is on her 3rd in 6 months, as they have had faults/keep breaking down. This is in France where everybody has easy access to logs....go figure.

No more so than all the oil we import ?

If the world needs hydrogen, using electricity generated by "green" means would seem the way to go.

There is still controversy as to whether biomass and wood pellets are really green.
